Secret Surprise Chocolate Cookies

I remember my SIL making these cookies and absolutely loving the way they so nicely provided that delectable nibble that a cookie should...a little chewy and crunchy all in a chocobloc cake like cookie. You will be surprised when you see the 'secret ingredient'. When I visited her this past week I knew I had to get the recipe to share with all of you. This recipe makes 5 to 6 dozen so you might want to halve it. Also, refrigerate the dough before rolling if it is too soft.

Chocolate Cookies

Cream together.....

  • 2 cups butter or marg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar

ADD
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1Tbs. vanilla
  • 2 eggs (1 at a time, beating after each one)
  • 5 cups of sifted flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup walnuts (optional)
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips (or to taste)
Roll into one inch balls. Roll in icing sugar. Place on lightly greased or parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer to cooling rack.

You will never go back to regular chocolate chip cookies again! YUM YUM!
My son just ate one fresh from the oven,
and the comment was...hey...these taste like timbits!
